A Letter to Myself: Happy Earth Day 🎊🌸🎂

Disclaimer: Even though the title is self-explanatory, this isn’t just for me but to anyone who may be celebrating their “earth day”. Or a new chapter and can’t find words to describe their emotions. Especially if it’s mixed. Age doesn’t matter in this post.

Odette,

Well, look at you…you’ve been blessed to see another birthday. I’m sure you are excited to an extent, but knowing you, I know that you are terrified more than anything. I think it’s safe to say that you’ve experienced a lot this past year, and it may have traumatized you just a little. You went through your personal ups and downs, cried yourself to sleep, and woke up with the “crying face” and swollen eyes. You’ve had your days of lashing out on persons you didn’t mean to, but I guess when you are that angry and hold so much in, you just can’t help it. You are only human. 

Coming down to the end of this chapter, you just closed, you became more serious and more determined. I don’t know if the anger and sadness gave you a boost, an epiphany happened, or both. The point is you became more defined. I noticed you made up your mind despite you saying “eff it” a million times before; whatever happens and whatever path you take, you will be okay and better yet be successful in your own perfect little way. It’s time you stop doubting yourself and what you are capable of. I think it’s time to give yourself a bit more credit for what you do!! I also think it’s time you stop wanting approval and credit from others, especially those you “thought” would care. You’ve gotten better at it but always room for improvement. Stop worrying so much about things that won’t matter within the next 24hrs FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!! But you can’t help yourself *sigh *

Odette. You are now “X” years old. That means you OLD *giggles * joking you are still young, just more mature. You are one year wiser, smarter, knowledgeable, etc. You ended your previous chapter pretty well despite the hardship. Start this chapter on that same path but even greater and more grand—time to take action and execute your plans with full speed. Nothing happens overnight, but every once in a while, maybe you should look back and see how far you’ve come. As a matter of fact, if you look back now, I am proud to say that you’ve come pretty far. I won’t call them out because you don’t like thinking about it, but you know exactly what I am talking about. 

Despite the changes that are happening all around you, just keep your head up. It won’t be easy, but you got this. Keep investing in your dreams. You are currently making a reality. I know it can be tough financially, but you are doing GREAT! Continue to be teachable because you are not always right (you get smart sometimes), but that’s what comes with being YOU, I guess. Remember what Rev.Doc. Malcolm (may his soul rest in peace) said to you? “You are a good person, with a good heart & you will be okay.” So… just be that. Word of advice:

1. Always be Yourself 💁🏾‍♀️

2. Secure the Bag 💰

3. SAVE!!!!!! 💵

4. Never Stress over ANYONE EVER🙅🏽‍♀️

5. If You Want it Go After It 🏃🏾‍♀️

6. Try not to focus on the Negative Things, or they’ll continue to Grow 

7. Be Open-Minded 

8. Be Brave & Honest 

9. Breathe & Relax 🧘🏽‍♀️

10. No Matter what Happens they will Both Love You Regardless ❤️
