Light of Summer

Odette

Well, …this came rather quickly. It is FINALLY Summer! And it is hot as hell. Hey Bloomers & welcome back to the blog. I really should have this posted up from June 20th, but I didn’t realize how quickly the time went. But better do it now than never right *giggles* so you know the drill by now, so, let’s get into this post!

SUMMER. I enjoy it every year, minus the extreme heat and hot flashes like we are all going through some midlife crisis, menopause. It’s a time where the weather is perfect for enjoying the outdoors and enjoying nature. Nights are warmer, which means central air is in full effect. During the summer, there is no more hibernation; your allergies shouldn’t be as bad as in Spring, nor do we need to bundle up and cuddle to keep warm. Most importantly, Flowers are blooming everywhere.

However, we won’t be focusing on nature so much, of course, I’m going to focus on us humans. Summer is a time of adventures and fun, with opportunities waiting all around us. I don’t know about you guys but, when I hear about the season Summer, a few words come to mind such as Light, Expression, Youth, Party, and overall just positive vibes. I want to think that is what summer symbolizes, but there is more to it. Unlike Winter, where it’s all about meditation, Autumn, that’s the start of change and Spring a time of renewal and a time to “embark on new journeys.” Summer is about self-development and trying daring new things.

In my words, self-development can be defined as “a person taking steps to better themself in which they are learning a new skill, trying out new adventures or simply improving on bad habits and changing their ways for the greater good.” I look at the summer season as a way of focusing on the more personal side of oneself, the more literal side. During this season, in particular, you tend to grow more subconsciously without even knowing. I think a part of that reason is that during the summertime, we tend to be more of an open book trying new things, which is the good and the bad and whatever the heart desires, even including the “sweet summer romance” that only lasts the summertime.

During this season, this is the time to step out of the box. Get out of your comfort zone, and enjoy what life has to offer. Unlike the other seasons, which are more serious and practical, summer is a time just to let loose and go buck wild, …but not too much. Speaking of which, during the Spring, I told you Bloomers to start those new projects. How are you all holding up? I hope you made progress with those new projects. You can use the summer season to take a mini-break or breather from working so hard on these new projects. Like I’ve said before, there is no need to rush them. Perfection takes time and remember “Quality over Quantity.” This is something I have to remind myself of continually.

On the personal side of things, I think I’m drowning myself a little too much. A lot is going on around me. At this point, I am ready to throw my hands up and say, “Eff It.” But I won’t do that, unfortunately. I think I have worked too hard to do such a thing. However, I do need to take some time for myself and relax. I always struggle with learning to do so, not stress, and stop putting so much time and pressure on myself. But I’m only human. *sigh*

Enough about me *giggles * I want you to enjoy summer as much as possible despite everything that is going on in the world. Try to relax and breathe.
