Chillin' till Winter

Odette

Bloomers would you look at that, we are almost done with this year better yet decade. Before this year is out, we finally reached a new season! Winter. That’s right, it’s finally the winter season. Now where I’m from, no matter the season, it always looks like summer *giggles *. However, for the rest of you Bloomers, you can enjoy the bright white snow, sticky blizzards, ice forming on glass, etc. The best part is sitting by a fireplace or cuddling with your pet or partner.

Winter is another great season not only for the cold shorter days and longer nights but because this is a time to sit back and think. Think about the past, even for just a little. Think about everything you have achieved, including those goals you had. Unlike the autumn season, where you cater to doing some self –reflection and changes, winter is a period to plan for the future. Create a list of fresh new resolutions and focus on the upcoming season of spring.

During the winter season, nature can be a bit of pain in the ass. Only the strongest survive in terms of animals such as birds, squirrels, and other scavengers who use their patience, cunning, and wit to get food and remain warm. Therefore Bloomers, this is the time for you to do the same. Not so much store food like the animals but go into survival mode. Winter is viewed as a time for stillness and calmness. A time for everything to be on pause. We, humans, try to avoid the cold by staying indoors, and in other countries, some are literally stuck indoors. So why not use this time to immerse yourself in your own creative outlets. This is the time to allow your mind to wander and create improved innovative ideas and goals for yourself.

Like I’ve said in “Falling into Autumn,” why to wait until new years to make changes. Autumn season is a time for a change, but winter is a time for meditation. Since everything is calmer, your meditation is smoother and more concentrated. No to mention, all of the festive holidays happen during winter! I am looking forward to this winter season for sure. There are a few changes that are still happening, but the plans and goals I have are more exciting. On the personal side of things, I plan to rest myself as much as I can, practice patience, work on my attitude, and focus on being more positive. Before you know it, it will be spring and who knows what it will bring besides allergies *giggles *

Should we do a mini-challenge for winter? I think we should. Let’s see what we can challenge ourselves to do.

1.    Have a lazy day and spend it relaxing or doing the bare minimum

2.    Create new goals for yourself (don’t wait until New Year’s)

3.    Get enough sleep (Hibernate)

4.    Forgive Yourself

Your calm mind is the ultimate weapon against your challenges. So relax.
